Overview
As the OJS Developer and Website Administrator for the Amanat Research Journal, I was responsible for setting up and managing the complete online journal publishing platform, including hosting configuration, subdomain setup, Open Journal Systems installation, journal configuration, interface customization, deployment, and technical maintenance.
The platform was developed for the Amanat Research Journal of Political Science, Government, and Public Policy (POGOVPOL), a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Amanat Research Institute. The journal provides a digital publication platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to publish and exchange ideas related to political science, governance, and public policy.
I installed and configured Open Journal Systems (OJS) on the Hostinger hosting environment and connected it to the journal.amanatresearch.id subdomain. The technical setup included creating and configuring the database, managing PHP and server requirements, configuring DNS records, activating SSL/HTTPS security, setting up website directories, and deploying the journal platform to production.
I also configured the journal’s publishing structure and editorial workflow, including journal information, focus and scope, editorial board, reviewer information, author guidelines, publication ethics, copyright notice, submission requirements, announcements, archives, and contact information.
The platform supports user registration, author manuscript submissions, editorial management, peer-review workflows, article publishing, issue and archive management, journal announcements, and role-based access for journal managers, editors, reviewers, authors, and readers.
In addition to the technical implementation, I customized the journal’s appearance and navigation to align with the Amanat Research Institute’s branding. I organized the main menus, journal information pages, sidebar content, publication tools, indexing information, journal templates, and supporting resources to make the platform easier to use for authors, reviewers, editors, and readers.
I was also responsible for ongoing website administration, including system configuration, content updates, account and role management, submission workflow support, backups, security monitoring, technical troubleshooting, and general platform maintenance.
The goal of this project was to provide Amanat Research Institute with a professional and centralized academic publishing platform that supports the entire journal publication process, from manuscript submission and peer review to issue management and online publication.
